kiss case

With single use plastic cutlery being banned in the UK this year, Kate Gould, a caterer with 25 years of experience decided to invent Kiss Case, a reusable and washable case for cutlery.

After initial research, Kate noticed that not only was good quality reusable cutlery thin on the ground, but carry cases were too. The carry cases which were available were often just canvas slip cases, which collected dirt and dust and didn't allow for dirty cutlery to be placed inside without making the case filthy, wet and smelly.

Armed with this, Kate started designing KissCase, which stands for Keep It Safe and Sustainable – a fully sustainable cutlery case people can carry with them without the hassle of worrying about cleaning their cutlery after use.

KissCase is waterproof and dishwasher safe and can be thrown into a bag until the end of the day without worry. It’s made from reusable plastics which means even if you do stop using it and want to get rid of it one day, you can recycle it and it’ll be made something else!

Kate got me on board to design the brand identity for this excellent product and tasked me with creating something which would appeal to the young professional market. She wanted the product to be something people would want to keep on their desks, not stored away in a drawer or at the bottom of a backpack.

The branding is full of charming character which is warm and inviting. From the fun copy used across all marketing materials, to the bright and bold colour palette – KissCase demands attention and for good reason, it’s trying hard to save the planet from unnecessary plastic use!

After multiple rounds of testing and prototyping, the case is ready to roll out across the UK. Given the governments announcement on single use plastic cutlery it looks like KissCase has arrived at a good time!

KissCase is currently in the process of partnering with forward thinking brands, retail food chains, government departments and even a couple of UK-based festivals. It can be branded inline with companies own brand identity or bought in any of KissCases exciting and eye-catching colour ways!
